Yet another major film to be entrusted to the re-mastering team here at Alive Studios.
If you’ve never heard of ‘Under Milk Wood’ you’re in for a real treat…
This is a delightful, if peculiar story, of a day in the life of a small, Welsh fishing village called “Llareggub” (read it backwards). We meet a host of curious characters (and ghosts) through the ‘eyes’ of Blind Captain cat. This is a true “Classic” of modern British writing with a wonderful, mischievous use of language.
Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Peter O’Toole have been trapped since 1972 in their Standard Definition (SD) format, but now Alive have given the film a new lease of life by converting the original Betacam masters to a Wide-screen, True High Definition picture.
Our clients will shortly be taking this great re-release on a UK cinematic tour.
A brand new client brought us an exciting project in October.
Our UK based clients are working closely with a Home Entertainment company in Germany to release a High Definition version of this classic ITV show ‘Richard the Lionheart’.
We were given the original 16mm sound reels to work from. We made a High Definition scan of the film and a high quality sound recording from the optical sound stripe.
We then produced a true HD output in perfect sync for our clients, in a format suitable for further editing or broadcasting.
Alive work with many film studios and entertainment companies to re-release wonderful classics from Film and TV to HD audiences.
Alive Studios can transfer your cine film sound for you, but some customers prefer to capture the sound themselves – either because they enjoy the process, or to keep the budget down.
If you transfer the sound yourself, you will no doubt experience some humming and hissing, and perhaps electronic interference.
We have made this handy video to show you some simple techniques to eliminate these distracting sounds, using Audition from Adobe.
