Your editor carries out a good 'tidy-up' job on your footage, deleting much of the non-film and cleaning it up nicely, before adding chapter markers at relevant change of scenes, to assist you in jumping through your film from scene to scene.

Add a DVD menu to your order and you can name certain chapters, making navigation really simple, and creating a lovely polished product.

Web Friendly format is great if you want to uploade your films to the web. Our Web Friendly are output to H264 in QuickTime format.

We are often asked to recommend a good backup system for your video and camcorder film transfers, and always offer mini dv or DVCAM tape. These highly versatile, high quality, long-lasting formats allow you to easily edit your films at a later date, and the nature of the tape is very durable and far harder to damage than a DVD or Hard Drive.

DVCAM is a professional variant of the DV standard that uses the same codec. However, the greater track width lowers the chances of dropout errors. DV-Cam produces excellent quality pictures and is frequently used within the media industry.
Those without access to a DVCAM player should opt for miniDV tape. To play these back to your computer, you just need any miniDV camcorder that your link up using firewire, and you're away.

Whilst many customers order AVI files for editing, which are great, you will find a miniDV or DVCAM tape a better permanent storage format. If you want to safely store this important film for generations to come, then this is your best option by far.

miniDV & DVCAM are compressed using the DV codec at 28.81 mbit/sec

These formats are for editing the footage on your computer.
Both formats will work in all major editing applications, but as a general rule, AVI is best suited to Windows users & QuickTime is best for Apple Mac users. AVI & QuickTime use the DV codec so it's the same quality as miniDV and DVCAM.

For disc orders files are split into 18min files (no more than 4Gb in size)
Orders over 2 hours must go on a hard-drive that you provide.

Then this is the service for you... "Transfer Plus" is the same high-quality transfer we always offer, but with one major difference...

One of our editors will actually watch your film for you and give the footage a good "clean up". By "clean up" we are referring to scenes where you are filming the floor, or are walking whilst recording but there's nothing really worthwhile happening.

We aim to cut down your film by removing the unnecessary clips wherever possible, resulting in a more watchable, tidy film.

For just £50 we will split your DVD & Blu-ray into chapters (1 chapter per tape with it's own title of upto 30 characters) and create a personalised menu screen to access them. Not sure what a DVD & Blu-ray menu is? Just think about the index page of a book. Touch the chapter you want to read and the book falls open at that exact page.

How does it work?
To order a Highlights chapter for your DVD, simply tick the highlights option and fill in the simple questions about music and dedications and leave the rest to us!

Our editors scrutinize your film for the best bits - the HighLights - and painstakingly put these together timed in to your favourite song, using slow-motion, black and white, and other eye-catching effects to create your very own Hollywood trailer of your life.

Why add pictures to my film?
You can enhance your enjoyment of your films even more by supplying us with a bunch of slides or photos that we can add at the end of your of films in form of a slideshow to summarize the experience.

If you wish to place the photos differently, at the start of the film for example, you can specify this in the additional notes section of the final order form print out.

On-screen titles are now available to really personalise your film. Perhaps it’s a dedication to a loved one, maybe you want to have the title of your film displayed such as

“The Smith Family Movies 1985-1995”

or maybe you want a title at the start of each decade. You could even have a title come up for every chapter saying the date, place and event for each one. Whatever use you find, titles can really add the professional touch.

You can have upto 2 lines per screen, maximum 30 characters per line.

What is this service for?
We offer the "draft copy" service to help you organise your tapes, disc's & Memory cards into the right order and choose appropriate names for the chapter headings.

First, we transfer all your reels to DVD, making each reel it's own chapter - so if you have 12 VHS-C Tapes, the DVD will have 12 chapters. We display a "Time Stamp", and current reel on-screen during the entire movie. So you don't have to worry about how to get your TV to display this information for you, it is ever-present so you always know exactly which reel is playing, and you make note of the exact time-code to request any changes to your film.

After watching the DVD with your family, you contact us with details of the exact order you want us to follow, deleting any reels you don't want included. At this stage you can also give each chapter a unique title for the DVD menu, and even add things like on-screen titles, dedications and messages for just £2.50.
